CS8960 Advanced 8-bit Micro-Controller with 8KB Flash ROM Sampling
 General Description:
CS8960 is a general purpose microcontroller with extensive peripherals that are suitable for wide range of application. The CPU is based on an enhanced 1 - Cycle 8051 core that is equivalent to 10 times faster than a conventional 12-T 8051.

The 8051 IP core contains two 16-bit timers, Timer0 and Timer1 and a watchdog timer programmable from 100ms to 3.25s with double enable bits. The serial port is full duplex; it can transmit and receive concurrently. Two frequency captures was provided.

Total on-chip SRAM is 256B. There is total 8KB of embedded flash memory. Extra 512B Using the on-chip flash memory as one would typically use EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory). CS8960 also provides a flexible means of flash programming that supports ISP (In System Programming). The time window mode protections of loss of Flash contents are implemented in hardware and robust.

CS8960 is a real mixed mode chip. It is includes an analog front-end, with low noise amplifier, PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier), two back-end amplifiers, one for voltage peak detector. Two comparators for outside voltage detect. There are two channels 8-bit SAR (Successive Approximation Register) ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) with 12.5us conversion time. Low voltage detector allows CS8960 working under harsh environment.

Accuracy internal OSC, Unused clock source can be disabled or used as GPIO pin for best system optimization and up to 3 input pins (GPI0, GPI3, GPI4), 3 output pins (GPO5, GPO6, GPO7), 2 I/O pins (GPIO1, GPIO2). Up to 2 external interrupt groups and totally make up 13 different interrupt sources.

Intended application field of CS8960 include Automobile sensors control system. Piezoelectric applications, 1.Mechanical power source (electrical to mechanical transducers): Piezoelectric actuators controller, piezoelectric fans controller. 2. Sensor (mechanical to electrical transducers): Ultrasonic sensors controller, knocking sensors controller, shock sensors controller, acceleration sensor controller. Electric component (transducer): Surface acoustic wave filter, etc.

By proper register settings in firmware for the embedded timing controller, users can easily configure the Ultrasonic Sensor Frequency to fit different kinds of sensor device, and detect the ultrasonic echo signal for car parking guidance.

CS8960 includes extended temperature ranges for AEC-Q100-REV-G grade 3: -40OC to +85OC ambient operating temperature, Full PPAP documentation support and packaging to meet the RoHS directive. It is suitable for component parts in automotive ECU.
