| 2005.10.20 Myson Century and National Semiconductor Announce Licensing Agreement for CRT Pre-Amplifiers
|
Myson Century, Inc. announced a licensing agreement with National Semiconductor Corporation, (NYSE:NSM) on the manufacturing and distribution of CRT pre-amplifiers. In this agreement, National Semiconductor has agreed to transfer to Myson Century the rights to manufacture, sell and distribute its pre-amplifier products for CRT monitor applications. National Semiconductor will also co-market the CRT driver products with Myson Century.
Myson Century, a veteran player in monitor applications, currently enjoys a 40 percent market share in TFT LCD monitor applications. With the addition of the licensed product line, Myson Century expects to better serve its customers with a wider range of products.
Starting October 22, Myson Century shall assume responsibility for servicing the licensed product to National Semiconductor’s existing customers. Since these customers are also existing customers of Myson Century, both companies anticipate a smooth transfer of service.
“We expect a smooth transfer of the product line since it is synergistic with Myson Century’s current product portfolio,” said Jeff Tang, CEO of Myson Century. “We also look forward to having more mutually beneficial technical exchanges with National Semiconductor in the future.”
“This license agreement is consistent with National’s ongoing focus on higher value, high-performance analog products,” said Suneil Parulekar, senior vice president of National’s Analog Signal Path Products Group.
